Barnstaple Perewinkles – 2 and 4

The Periwinkles 2 (P1) and R4 (R164) need no introduction, two of the best performing females in the breed. An outstanding mother and daughter team. In the top 5% of the Breed for all growth traits.

We were recently able to purchase three animals from this famous line from Grahame Barnes, at the time of the dispersal of the Barnstaple Devon Stud. Like the Periwinkles they are trait leaders in the breed [Breedplan] :

Viola [Breedplan] was a Royal Show Grand Champion at only 15 months. She brings depth, volume, thickness and softness to our breeding programme. She ticks all the boxes for us with these great carcass attributes and certainly suits the unique Kippax Valley type. Tremendous thickness but extremely feminine and mobile.

Benoak Brassy X21.

Brassy [Breedplan] an outstanding young female who once again fits the unique Kippax Valley type for her natural thickness and muscling. Purchased from the highly successful Benoak Stud being the “feature lot” at their 2008 sale. A magnificent individual from one of the best genetic families in the Benoak herd.

Palinga Plum W65.

Plum W65 [Breedplan] is a member of the very successful Plum family. A high performance female once again displaying the volume and natural thickness that we look for. An outstanding producer that we were fortunate to acquire from the Palinga Devon Stud where the Plum line of cattle has stood the test of time and featured extensively in their breeding programme.
